Fleet Street. 1969. The Sun rises. A young and rebellious Rupert Murdoch asks the impossible and launches The Sun’s first editor’s quest: to give the people what they want. No matter the cost.
Following a sell-out season at the Almeida, Ink, written by James Graham (This House) and directed by Rupert Goold (King Charles III), transfers to the Duke of York’s Theatre for a strictly limited season. With a cast featuring Bertie Carvel (Doctor Foster, Matilda) and Richard Coyle (The Associate, The Lover), this ruthless, red-topped new play leads with the birth of this country’s most influential newspaper.

Brilliant show well written play excellent set and fantastic acting
Excellent production, very pacey, superb acting, and thought provoking, particularly as we are aware of what happens next.
Brilliant play. First half perhaps a bit long. Set was inspired and actors worked well together as a team.
Funny different subject matter. Good Xmas outing for grown up family
I go to the theatre a lot, and always have done. There are not that many straight plays in the West End but of these, 'Ink' is the best I've seen in a very long time; it kept my attention from the first to the last minute. The acting was great, the interpretation of events was accurate and imaginatively portrayed, and the set was both interesting to look at and observe the occasional changes, it was also a feat of engineering! I would love to see the play again but as I live in West Wiltshire, this would not be easy so, please go on tour - specifically to the Theatre Royal, Bath!
A great fun play, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The set was wonderful.
First half was great Second half was too long and drawn out
Fantastic play. Up in the gods with a restricted view dodn't diminish the quality of the play/
So glad I treated myself to a day in London including going to see the matinée performance of Ink. Bertie was amazing but I was disappointed that the part of Larry Lamb was played by the understudy. Otherwise really good.
Slick production. Interesting. Good play. Second half stronger than first half.
Probably one of the best shows I’ve seen. The set on stage was amazing. Overall magnificent!
Fantastic-As an Ex Fleet Street Journalist I felt as if I was transported back in a Time Machine to a date when Newspapers were King.
