The scantily glad performers were not required to be so minimally dressed to such an extent for the audience to understand that the scene is set in a brothel. To the same effect, the actresses did not need to feign sexual acts or gyrate on stage as much as they did. These parts of the musical bored me, and it seemed lazy on the part of the director. A small amount of dialogue, as opposed to full singing in the whole performance would have been appreciated. The opening scenes with the man (brothel owner) who sang - could not understand what he was saying. I would not recommend this performance. The Prince EdwardTheatre staff were exceptional, great service.
Absolutely brilliant! The acting and the scenery and effects were fantastic
I saw Miss Saigon 12 years ago and second time around did not disappoint,it was amazing.I brought my 3 daughters and granddaughter and they also loved it.The cast were excellent everything was just perfect.Am glad I brought my tissues this time.
Excellent and very moving show loved every minute.
A very emotional show, I wasn't sure what to expect as I only knew that it was a love story during the Vietnam war. The first quarter of the show I had mixed feelings, thought it was a bit to raunchy, a lot of swearing for a matinee as there were children in the audience. As the show progressed, I was engrossed, the story was amazing and also the cast were brilliant, the emotion portraded in the signing was so good you could feel the anger and frustration in their voices, well done.
Excellent show...watched it for the 4th time. Supreme staging and cast and all the more special because it was the last night.
my honest opinion is all i will ever be bothered to give. FANTASTIC is what i thought of the whole experience. the seats were great, dress circle, overlooking the stage, the show was breathtaking the cast really involved you emotionally. the stage and lighting were, at times ,intensely animated.i had to rub my eyes to check i wasnt watching a dream. a thoroughly enjoyable joy.
Loved it! Great show! To Broadway and beyond!
The show was beautifully staged, with a strong story, wonderful dancing and great singing. The theatre acoustics are excellent and, even though we were seated near the back of the stalls, we could hear everything. My only quibble would be that the show is a bit overlong and some sequences seem to be included as 'padding'. It also finished quite late, which resulted in us having a late arrival home (we live in East Kent), but that latter is our own fault for living so far away! I do hope we can find more shows which will attract us in future. We both had a wonderful time.
It was a fantastic show second time I had seen it and if it comes back I will go again
I saw Miss Saigon many years ago (First run), This time was just as good but I thought that the sound clarity in the upper circle didn't cut through so well on the male voices.
Miss Saigon is an excellent show, very well characterised and full on. We were near the back of the stalls and apart from the VERY frenetic beginning where dialogue/lyrics were a little lost between competing chorus and lead, everything was very clear and we were very soon drawn into the unfolding drama. We deliberately didn't check out the story line beforehand and were glad we hadn't - that way we were able to be surprised at some of the turns of events. The choreography was excellent, using all of the staging to good effect and the set design was very clever, including the surprise elements. Costumes were very apt and one could see the tremendous amount of work that went into them and into the whole production. We were SO glad we finally managed to see it before it finishes. Theatre staff were very helpful too.
